Official Rules for the Sunday Night Spotlight “Bites + Beats” Contest
No Purchase Necessary. A Purchase Will Not Increase Your Chances Of Winning.
1. Eligibility: This Contest is sponsored by Ecolab Inc. and open to current culinary and management ProStart® school teams who are registered for a 2025 ProStart State Competition and who are 13 years of age or older at the time of entry. Eligible entrants must participate in the Contest as a team of between two (2) and five (5) members. Employees of Ecolab Inc. (“Ecolab”), The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (“NRAEF”), and their respective affiliates and their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such person are not eligible.
2. Entry Period: The Entry Period starts at 12:00 AM ET on February 13, 2025 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on April 2, 2025 (the “Entry Period”).
3. Create Your Entry: Create a 2-3 minute video (your “Entry”) to share a signature menu item and describe the food truck theme that would serve the dish. Each team member must contribute to the video with the goal to display their knowledge, passion, and creativity. Judging Criteria are detailed in Section 7.
4. Entry Requirements: Entrants who are under the age of majority in their state of residence at time of entry must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to participate. Please make sure your entry does not: (a) violate anyone’s rights, including, but not limited to, copyrights or trademark rights; (b) prominently feature any third-party trademarks or logos (other than Sponsor’s trademarks or logos); (c) include any music; (d) portray Sponsor or its products or ProStart in a negative light; (e) include any individuals other than team members; or (f) contain any content that is inappropriate or indecent. Ecolab reserves the right to disqualify any Entry that does not meet these requirements, as determined by Ecolab, in its sole discretion.
5. Submit Your Entry: Visit SundayNightSpotlight.com during the Entry Period, fill out the entry form, and submit your Entry. There is a limit of one (1) Entry per team. Ecolab reserves the right disqualify any person or team that attempts to enter more times or otherwise violates these Official Rules. By entering, you represent and warrant that your Entry complies with all requirements in these Official Rules. Further, by entering you indicate your agreement to these Official Rules and Ecolab’s decisions regarding the Contest, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements in these Official Rules.
6. Ecolab’s Rights to Entries: You do not transfer ownership of your Entry by entering the Contest. However, by entering, you grant Ecolab, NRAEF and its affiliates, others associated with this Contest, and their respective agents, licensees, and assigns an irrevocable, perpetual (non-exclusive) right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, publicly perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works of, exhibit, and otherwise use your Entry as-is or as-edited (with or without using your name) in any media throughout the world for any purpose, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from you.
7. Judging: After the Entry Period, a panel of impartial judges selected by Ecolab will evaluate all eligible Entries based on the following criteria: (a) Expertise in Culinary and/or Hospitality Management (10 points available); (b) Communication and Presentation Skills (10 points available); (c) Understanding of the Industry (10 points available); and (d) Creativity and Personality (10 points available). The two teams with the highest scores will be deemed potential winners and will be contacted via an email to their designated educator / chaperone. The odds of winning depend on the performance of each team.
8. Potential Winner Requirements: Each member of a winning team – or his/her parent or legal guardian, if the team member is a minor – will be required to sign and submit a Declaration of Eligibility and Release, and a W9 form. Ecolab reserves the right to disqualify a potential winning team if any team member – or his/her parent or legal guardian – does not sign the necessary forms within five (5) days of the date the documents are sent. Ecolab also reserves the right to disqualify a potential winning team if fewer than two (2) team members are able to participate in the prize. If a potential winning team is disqualified, Ecolab may select an alternate potential winning team in its place according to the Judging Criteria.
9. Prizes: Each member of the two winning teams and up to two (2) educators / chaperones will receive a trip to the 2025 National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago on May 17 – May 19, 2025. The prize consists of: (a) roundtrip coach-class airfare for each person (up to seven (7) total based on number in the team) to Chicago; (b) a two night stay in a hotel selected by Sponsor (up to four (4) rooms for male team members, female team members and two (2) educators / chaperones); (c) ground transportation between the hotel and Show; (d) an opportunity to participate on stage in the programming at Ecolab’s Sunday Night Spotlight event on May 18, 2025; and (e) all meals. Team members will be required to share rooms. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the prize is $1,100 per person. The actual value of the trip will vary depending on various factors, including the point of departure and the number of rooms. Each educator/chaperone will be required sign a liability and publicity release prior to issuance of tickets. The entire team must travel on the same itinerary. Once travel documents are issued, they cannot be changed. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute ground transportation for air transportation. A winner is responsible for paying taxes and any costs and expenses not specified above. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by Ecolab, in its sole discretion. A prize may not be transferred prior to award. A winner may not request cash or a substitute prize; however, Ecolab reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason, as determined by Ecolab, in its sole discretion.
10. General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way, Ecolab may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest; or (b) award the prize according to the procedures set forth above from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Ecolab reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and seek damages from any individual who tampers with the operation of the Contest, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive manner. Ecolab’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Proof of sending any communication to Ecolab by mail shall not be deemed proof of receipt of that communication by Ecolab. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
11. Release and Limitations of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Ecolab, NRAEF, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related that may impede entry; (c) any claim or allegation that your Entry infringes any copyright, trademark, or any other intellectual property right; (d) lost, late, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property. You further agree that in any cause of action, in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
12. Privacy and Publicity: Any information you submit as part of the Contest will be treated in accordance with Ecolab’s Privacy Statement and may be shared with NRAEF and treated subject to NRAEF’s Privacy Policy. Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes your consent to Ecolab’s and NRAEF’s use of your name and Entry for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
13. Disputes: Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in St. Paul, Minnesota. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor or any other party in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Minnesota, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Minnesota or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Minnesota.
